About Corey
Corey Tassin joined the firm from the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted the city's most serious cases as a Homicide Unit attorney and served as Deputy Chief of Trials. His practice was built where it counts - in the courtroom, in front of juries, with everything on the line.
As a prosecutor, Corey handled hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases from investigation through verdict and sentencing, first-chairing jury and bench trials involving violent crime, drug offenses, and white-collar matters. He thrives under pressure: in one stretch he tried three separate murder cases in three weeks and won guilty verdicts in all three. That work earned him the Excellence in Law Enforcement Award from the Metropolitan Crime Commission and the Champion of Justice Award from the District Attorney's Office. As Deputy Chief of Trials, he also trained and supervised more than thirty trial attorneys.
His experience spans both sides of the courtroom and both sides of litigation. Before the D.A.'s Office, Corey represented injured clients at a high-volume personal injury firm, where he managed complex case files, negotiated settlements, and handled every stage of a claim. Earlier, he clerked for the U.S. Coast Guard Judge Advocate General and the Louisiana Department of Justice, building a foundation in regulatory, appellate, and federal court work.
Corey earned his Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center and his bachelor's degree from Southeastern Louisiana University, and he is a certified mediator. He's committed to justice, to mentorship, and to the craft of trial advocacy - and he brings the same preparation and courtroom instinct to fighting for people who have been hurt.
